Behind The Souls

DISCONNECTED SOULS emerged in 2018 out of a desire to incorporate and blend the three great pillars of music, electronic, classical and metal. Following their debut EP Warring Elements, the band have since been releasing a diverse array of singles, leading up to the debut album. The quintet based out of Chester, England, strive to create a distinctive sound that draws upon the depths of metal, while playing with tones and textures. Each member brings a diverse range of musical interests to the table and the resulting sound encompasses a wide variety of instrumental and vocal styles. DISCONNECTED SOULS take their name from the growing disconnect between humans; both from each other but also within ourselves, as well as the increasing rift with the natural world. Fragments of Consciousness will be released on January 19th, 2024.

Holly Frances Royle

Based in Chester, UK, Holly has been playing keys and guitars for almost two decades. With a love of the dark and macabre, it's not surprising she loves to compose heavy music with an eerie undertone while making use of haunting vocal styles. She draws musical and thematic inspiration from literature, history, and nature, as well as D&D and fantasy realms. Along with composition and lyricising, Holly is the glue keeping us all together.

He's a big fan of the energy and atmosphere of metal gigs and is keen to bring this same energy to the compositions of Disconnected Souls.

Mostly, they're thrilled to work alongside friends to create things as a group.

"This is inhuman!” shrieked Rat-catcher 2.

“No, it’s very human,” said Keith. “It’s extremely human. There isn’t a beast in the world that’d do it to another living thing, but your poisons do it to rats every day. -Terry Pratchett, The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents
